Abstract

The actual data collected during long operating periods are used to develop models for calculating the normal consumption of periclase-chromite parts for running repairs and laying the roofs of open-hearth and twin-bath furnaces. The calculated normal amounts of PKhS parts needed for repairing the main roof and roofs of port ends and slag chambers allow designers to predict the consumption of refractories for furnaces of various capacities as a function of specified operating parameters.
