Refractories Aims and scope

Abstract

Service conditions for refractories are considered and rational ways of raising their quality on the basis of a thorough analysis of the processes of preparing molded mixtures, pressing, drying, and sintering, which are responsible for the formation of the structure of articles and thus determine their operating conditions, are suggested. Technological innovations can be used at producer plants without additional expenditures on changes in the technological cycle and modification of the equipment. Examples of implementation of the suggested techniques for producing refractories based on chromomagnesia spinel and zirconates of alkali earth metals are presented.
