Über die Änderung der Oberflächentemperatur der Nordsee im Zeitraum 1905–1954

Zusammenfassung

Es werden die Beobachtungen der Oberflächentemperatur der Nordsee, die G. Dietrich für den ICES-Atlas (Conseil Int. Explorat. Mer, ICES [1962]) aus den Jahren 1905–1954 benutzt hat, hinsichtlich der Änderungen im Gesamtzeitraum untersucht. Für alle Eingradfelder der Nordsee werden die Beobachtungen monatsweise zusammengefaßt und linear ausgeglichen. Es ergibt sich für nahezu alle Felder ein Jahresgang, wonach die Temperaturen im Spätwinter und Frühjahr sich nur wenig, im Spätsommer und Herbst dagegen teilweise beträchtlich erhöht haben. Nach den für die einzelnen Felder berechneten Änderungen der Temperatur werden Monatskarten entworfen, welche Gebiete gleicher Temperaturänderung in der Nordsee zeigen. Für einige Monate werden diese Karten wiedergegeben und besprochen. Als Faktoren, die für die Erwärmung im Untersuchungszeitraum verantwortlich gemacht werden können, werden der Einfluß des Atlantischen Ozeans, der Einfluß des durch das Skagerrak abfließenden Ostseewassers, der Einfluß des europäischen Festlandes und atmosphärische Einflüsse genannt. Dabei scheint die thermische Schichtung der Nordsee während der Sommermonate eine zusätzliche Rolle zu spielen.

Summary

Observations of the North Sea surface temperature from 1905 to 1954 used by G. Dietrich for the ICES Atlas (Conseil Int. Explorat. Mer, ICES [1962]) are examined with regard to changes in the period as a whole. For all one-degree fields of the North Sea the observations are summarized monthly and fitted to a linear equation by the method of least squares. There are annual variations for almost all fields with only slightly rising temperatures in late winter and spring but partly considerably rising temperatures in late summer and autumn. On the basis of the temperature changes computed for the single fields monthly charts are drafted showing areas of equal temperature changes in the North Sea. These charts are represented and discussed for several months. As factors responsible for the heating in the period under review the effect of the Atlantic Ocean, the effect of the Baltic water passing through the Skagerrak, the effect of the European continent, and atmospheric effects are quoted. The thermal layering of the North Sea during the summer months seems to play an additional role in this context.

Les observations de la température de surface en Mer du Nord de 1905 à 1954 dont s'est servi G. Dietrich pour l'atlas ICES (Conseil Int. Explorat. Mer ICES [1962]), ont été étudiées du point de vue de leurs variations au cours de toute cette période. Pour chaque carreau d' un degré de côté, les observations ont été, mois par mois, rassemblées et compensées linéairement. Pour presque tous les carreaux on trouve une variation annuelle telle que les températures n'ont monté que peu à la fin de l'hiver et au printemps et, au contraire, se sont élevées souvent de manière appréciable, à la fin de l'été et en automne. D'après les variations de température calculées pour chacun des carreaux on a établi des cartes mensuelles indiquant les zones d'égale variation de température. Pour un certain nombre de mois, ces cartes sont reproduites et étudiées. Parmi les facteurs auxquels on peut attribuer l'échauffement pendant la période considérée, on cite l'influence de l'Océan Atlantique, l'influence des eaux de la Baltique qui s'écoulent par le Skagerrak, l'influence du continent européen et des influences atmosphériques. Il semble aussi que s'y ajoute le rôle joué par la stratification thermique de la Mer du Nord pendant les mois d'été.
