Summary

Development and growth of some colonies ofAtta cephalotes andAcromyrmex sp. under laboratory conditions are described. Details are given concerning breeding-boxes, conditions of temperature and humidity as well as food materials. All colonies reached a high number of workers, in one nest ofAcromyrmex sp. 300 winged sexuals appeared after three years.
