Wayne A. O'Neil is professor of education and linguistics at Harvard University. He is the author of Kernels and Transformations(McGraw-Hill, 1965), and he has also produced a coordinated instructional film and monograph on transformational grammar. He initiated, but has recently renounced, the language part of the Oregon Curriculum Program in English.
