The azoisopropane-sensitized pryrolysis of propylene has been studied at temperatures from 494 to 580 K. The initial rates of formation of the main products were measured by gas chromatography. A mechanism is suggested to account for the experimental results and to evaluate k1/k21/2 for the reactions
This ratio can be given as follows
