Abstract

The three articles on “the application of creativity knowledge to education” contributed to an understanding of the development of creative abilities in educational settings. My article provided a historical and conceptual perspective on the role of teachers in enhancing creativity. Hennessy's article on creative motivation provided a theoretical and empirical basis for developing children's intrinsic motivation to be creative. Clement's article on the use of computer programs to develop divergent thinking used information-processing theory to highlight the usefulness of a more technical aspect of instruction.
