Abstract

A neutron activation method for determination of uranium dissolved in the coolant of the first cycle of nuclear power stations is proposed. The method is based on preliminary concentration on activated carbon, irradiation with epithermal neutrons and gamma-spectrometry of239Np. The detection limit amounts to 1,3·10−8 U/l. The method was sucessfully applied for the determination of uranium in the coolant of a nuclear power station.
