Sind Bluttransfusionen noch erforderlich?

Zusammenfassung

Die Indikationsstellung zur Bluttransfusion hat sich grundlegend geändert. Bluttransfusionen sind nur noch bei instabilen Kreislaufverhältnissen, bei klinisch manifesten Beschwerden, die z. B. eine Mobilisation verhindern, oder bei Gerinnungsstörungen gerechtfertigt. Anämien z. B. auf der Basis von Laborbefunden ohne klinisch manifeste Beschwerden sollten nicht mit Bluttransfusionen therapiert werden. Die Wundheilung wird bei leichter Anämie durch Bluttransfusionen nicht verbessert. Konsequent und sofort durchgeführte peripartale Maßnahmen können den Fremdblutbedarf auf ein Minimum beschränken.
