W. Chesson in zijn: “the Dutch Republics of South-Africa; three letters to R. N. Fowler and Ch. Burton.” (London 1871), die beweert dat de Boeren voornamelijk de Kaffers heoorlogen ten einde de bij die oorlogen geroofde kinderen tot slaven op te leiden.

  2. Daarmede kan vergeleken worden wat hij, ten slotte van het werk, op blz, 420, in 't kort zegt betoogd te hebben.

  3. Blijkens een brief van Waterboer zelven van 5 October 1859, door Liudley op blz. 218 opgenomen, had hij toen uitdrukkelijk verklaard dat Camphell-land h m niet toekwam en buiten zijn territoir lag.
