Thermohydrodynamics of the Ocean

Abstract

The evolution of the mesoscale cyclonic eddy is analysed by means of a dynamic baroclinic quasi-geostrophic model. The initial field and boundary conditions defined in the course of observations made in the POLYMODE area during 24 July–23 August 1978 are used. The estimation model eddy field obtained is compared with the observation results.
