Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Social Anthropology at Queen's University of Belfast, where he is conducting research on the theory and practice of conflict resolution, especially in the contexts of israel and Northern Ireland.In 1985, he held the Schweitzer Chair at Syracuse University and has worked for indigenous organizations in Canada. Author or co-author of a number of articles and studies, includingLords of the Arctic: Wards of the State, a report produced for the Canadian Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1989.
