He has worked as a consultant in the field of distance education for Unesco, the World Bank and the British Council, was involved in the Ivory Coast ETV Project from 1973 to 1975, and has taught at the University of Montreal. His current research interest is in the application of computer-mediated communication methods to distance education. He has co-authored a number of books, including: Le savoir à domicile: pédagogie et problématique de la formation à distance (with France Henri); Distance Teaching for Higher and Adult Education(with Greville Rumble); and Using the Media for Adult Basic Education (with Keith Harry).
