Excitation of theE u polariton in a centrosymmetric crystal by four-wave mixing

Abstract

We investigate the contribution ofE u phonon-polariton to the four-wave mixing signal obtained in a TiO2 crystal. Experimental results indicate that the contribution is via second- oder quadrupolar susceptibility χ yxxy .
