In dogs, perfusions of the cerebral ventricles and of the carotid bifurcations are performed with solutions containing different amounts of CO2. The stimulation of the respiration by a given increase of the concentration of CO2 in the carotid bifurcation is greater than that produced by the same increase in the cerebral ventricles.
