Summary
After performing an abrasion of the rabbit's cornea (5 mm), the authors studied the action of a suspension in physiological serum of desoxycorticosterone 1 and 5% and Cortisone 2.5% on the epithelial regeneration of the cornea. The “test cornea” received physiological serum.
The experiments were laid out in a so-called “balanced incomplete bloc design”. With such a planning of the experiments, there is an increase in precision which is estimated to be of 560%. Epithelisation times are:
-
51.2 hours for the test cornea which received physiological serum;
-
53.6 for desoxycorticosterone 5%;
-
55.8 for desoxycorticosterone 1%;
-
58.6 for Cortisone 2.5%.
