Summary

Periodontal defects in adolescents or young adults are often an incidental finding within the framework of orthodontic treatment. Often these patients are suffering from a special fromm of periodontal disease, juvenile periodontitis. Guided tissue regeneration (GTR) offers a technique for long-term therapy in such cases. in the case presented here, the periodontal problems were aggravated by malpositioning of the effected teeth. Orthodontic and periodontal treatment enable the malpositioning to be corrected and the ossseous defects of be largely regenerated. Controlls on regular bases up to now reveilled as stable status over 2 years.
