Abstract
Gamma irradiation effects of chromium isotope exchange in magnesium chromate — zinc chromate mixtures doped with51Cr/III/ were investigated. It was found that γ irradiation has an oxidation effect and the percentage of51Cr/VI/ exchanged increases with increasing γ-ray dose. The data were explained in terms of mechanistic model involving metal and ligand vacancies exchange and substitution reactions.
