Summary

The reaction withp-aminobenzaldehyde and hydrogen peroxide has been tested on the known metabolic substances of tryptophane and its derivatives (kynurenine,o-aminoacetophenone, acid antranilic, acid kynurenic, acid xanthurenic, 3-oxykynurenine, acid 3-oxyantranilic, 3-oxyaminoacetophenone).

The colour reaction which is found with some of those, becomes specific in the case of kynurenine only, in the water phase after several extractions with butanol.
