The action of quinones on mitosis

Zusammenfassung

Chinone, die durch Oxydation von Dihydroxyphenolen in durch Zinkmangel geschädigten Pflanzen entstehen, blockieren die Mitosen in jungen Geweben. Durch Cystein wird die Zahl der Mitosen erhöht. Phenanthrachinon hat einen ähnlichen antimitotischen Effekt. Wenn die Mitose gehemmt ist, dann erfolgt die Zellvergrößerung, soweit als möglich, ohne eine entsprechende Volumenzunahme des Kerns.
