Summary

The metabolic activity of normal and damaged cells and tissues following dinitro-o-cresol (10−5 m)in vitro is a measure for the degree of the original injury. Depending on the characteristics of the respiration, it is possible to distinguish between reversible (i. e. irritation) and irreversible (i. e. injury) reaction-metabolism.
