The natural radioactivity of aluminium as determined by γ-ray spectroscopy

Abstract

The intrinsic radioactivity of aluminium has been investigated by a shielded Ge(Li) γ-spectrometer. Strong disequilibrium was found in the natural decay chains of U and Th caused by the elimination of Ra during aluminium production.
