Summary
Solubility curves of plasma proteins in cold watermethanol mixtures atp H 6.1–6.95 and ionic strength 0.036–0.092 are described. The shape of the curves thus obtained resembles that of salting-out curves obtained by using concentrated neutral salts: nevertheless the “resolution power” seems to be higher with methanol.
An interpretation of some of the segments of the curves has been attempted.
On the basis of the evidence obtained a micro-method for plasma-proteins fractionating is proposed (using 6, 34, 52% methanol atp H 6.75–6.95, μ ≊ 0.036).
