Summary
In the inhibition of the migration of human leucocytes by tribasic sodium citrate conditions are similar to those in the inhibition of phagocytosis directed againstE. coli. At least two elements important for the migration are inactivated by citrate: (1) the free calcium ions, (2) serum factors whose nature is yet unclear. The inhibition of the migration of leucocytes by sodium citrate is reversible. Leucocytes inhibited by citrate acquire full capacity to migrate again after addition of calcium ions and “serum factor”.
