Summary

Tobacco, cultivated under glass, does not produce any rutin and only about a seventh of the normal amount of chlorogenic acid. UV-treatment increases the formation of chlorogenic acid up to the normal level, while the synthesis of rutin cannot be stimulated. In addition there is a conspicuous morphogenetic influence in the UV-treated plants.
