Summary

The anti-inflammatory action of Cortisone and Phenylbutazone (Butazolidin-Geigy, TM.), as demonstrated e.g. on the formalin oedema of rats, is abolished after extirpation of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. This result seems to indicate a participation of the incretory organs mentioned on the anti-inflammatory mechanism of these products.
