Summary

By reason of their different development out of the hypodermis, the regenerates of the imaginal wing discs may be divided in 4 groups. Within group A they show the normal imaginal wing discs development, in group B this process is modified and in group C they show a more primitive type of imaginal wing disc development. An ‘imaginipetal’ tendency of the initial development is manifested in group C and D.
