Summary
After administration of cortexone to a normal man, we isolated the 5β-pregnana 3α, 21-diol 20-one glucuronide in human urine. We found 90% of this corticosteroid in the glucuronide fraction; the remaining 10% was in the free fraction.
We found neither the cortexone nor its metabolites dior tetrahydrogenated in the ester-sulphate fraction.
The tetrahydrocortexone-glucuronide was identified by paper chromatography and by electrophoresis.
