Summary

This paper deals with the description of the ultrastructure of the juxtaglomerular complex of the kidney, namely the epithelioid cells (polkissen) of the afferent arteriole, the Goormaghtigh cells, and the macula densa of the distal convoluted tubule, studied with the electron microscope. All these cells show a characteristic feature, different from that of all other kidney cells.
