Summary
A new method is described to ascertain the velocity of arterial blood-flow. An injection of 0.2–0.3 cm3 “Geigyblue” or methylene blue in a concentration of 5–4% is made into the Arteria femoralis. The passage of the dye through the toes is recorded by a photo-electric cell and a string-galvanometer without amplification. The blood speed can be calculated from the time of passage of the dye.
