Summary

From 6,65 litres of ordinary neon 3,5 litres heliumfree20Ne with an isotopic purity of 99,95% were obtained in a thermal diffusion column of 5 units of 2,85 m length each. The so-called “spectroscopically” pure neon of trade qualitaty delivered in glass tubes contained 1,9% helium and about 0,5% nitrogen which could be easely detected and separated from the crude neon during the process.
