Summary
In the alkaline saponification of the technical DDT 6 different carbonic acids are formed which were isolated and identified and which are attributable to the following 6 byproducts: o, p′- and o, o′-dichlorodiphenyltrichloro-ethane, 1-(p-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trichloro-ethane, 1-(p-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trichloro-ethanol, 1-(p-chlorophenyl)-1,2,2,2-tetrachloro-ethane, 1-(p-chlorophenyl)-1-ethoxy-2,2,2-trichloro-ethane.
