Summary
In two orchards at Nijbroek (Gelderland province) and in one at Kloetinge (Zeeland province) abnormal symptoms on some trees of the apple variety Belle de Boskoop were found consisting of rosetting, leaf distortion and sterility. By means of grafting these symptoms were transmitted to healthy trees (test-plants) of the same variety and probably also to the variety Jonathan. The control-plants remained healthy. The virus nature of the disease has thus been proved. The name suggested for the disease isApple Rosette.
