Summary

A substance was isolated from extracts prepared from aphids (Brachycaudus napelli Schrk.) which induces black-brown necrotic areas in leaves of detached tomato shoots which are put into an aqueous solution of the substance. The purity of the isolated substance mentioned above has not yet been determined.
