Summary

By means of IR-spectroscopy, proton transfer processes of base-pairing models of deoxyribonucleic acid (1:1 mixed crystals of 9-methyl adenine and 1-methyl thymine and of 9-ethyl guanine and 1-methyl cytosine) in measurable quantities can be excluded at temperatures between −150 and +30°C.
