Summary
A method is described for the chemical estimation of corticosteroids in the urine. The method is suitable for the determination of all corticosteroids, except 11-dehydrocorticosterone and cortisone, and allows the evaluation of fractions of 1γ of biologically active steroids.
None of the corticosteroids determined is excreted by the urine, either under normal conditions or after intra-muscular injection of 10 mg of desoxycorticoster-one-acetate. If, however, it is intravenously injected in the glucoside form, part of the desoxycorticosterone is excreted by the urine.
