Summary
The authors immunized 31 rabbits against 7 geophilic species of dermatophytes and verified the complement fixing properties and the specific hemagglutination of the sera collected from the immunized animals. All the sera showed more or less specific immunobiological properties. The highest antigenic value was found inTrichophyton terrestre and inT. evolceanui. Considering the immunobiological properties of geophilic dermatophytes the authors conclude that these fungi are relatives of common dermatophytes.
