Abstract
We have found and studied a new resonance effect in monomode planar-waveguide arrays with a finite-length dielectric coating, which consists in the formation (at certain scanning angles) of an additional beam, the level of which is approximately equal to that of the main beam and whose orientation is specularly symmetric about the latter with respect to the aperture normal.
