A new medium for the isolation of β-haemolytic streptococci

Summary

A substrate for blood agar is described which depresses the growth of the ordinarily apathogenic flora of the throat, permitting a diagnosis ofβ-haemolytic streptococci without microscopic examination and subculture; it is offering a better yield of positive findings.

Es wird ein Nährsubstrat beschrieben, das dem üblichen Blutagar beim Nachweis vonβ-hämolytischen Streptokokken aus einer Mischflora überlegen ist und die Diagnose ohne Mikroskopie und Subkultur zuläßt.
