In vitro effect of metronidazole and tinidazole on anaerobic bacteria

Strains ofBacteroides fragilis and Clostridium spp. were investigated for sensitivity to metronidazole and tinidazole by the agar dilution method. The high antibacterial activityin vitro implies that metronidazole and tinidazole may be valuable in the treatment of infections due to these anaerobic pathogens.
