Abstract
The initiation of an electron stream in a planar magnetron in the presence of a multifrequency signal is considered. Based on the trajectory analysis, it has been shown that only saddle equilibrium points can exist in the phase plane of this system. It is found that the saddle points can be of two types. The concept of a trajectory divergence domain has been introduced. The processes by which the form of the stream is changed radically as a function of signal parameters are described.
