Summary
Striking cytological features of the nonmalignant human mammary gland are reported. The most important of them are 1. In gynecomastia, epithelial cells produce secretion like the epithelial cells of dysplasic and tumoral female mammary gland. 2. In pregnancy, the lipid synthesis appears earlier than the protein synthesis. 3. Lamellar osmiophilic inclusions have been found within myoepithelial cells in two cases.
