Abstract

This article describes how a managed care system is being established in San Mateo County to coordinate the delivery of mental health, probation, social and education services to children with mental health problems. The evolving system assesses program outcomes, uses centralized authorization and treatment management, and merges the funding streams in order to develop a seamless web of services.
