Determination of the tilt of a rigid embedded strip foundation

Abstract

A solution is derived for a rigid foundation located on the bottom of a rectangular opening in a half plane (plane strain) and loaded by a moment. The problem is solved by the method of rectangular elements into which the perimeter of the opening is divided. The results of the solution are reduced to tabulated values.
