Influence of the volume of Löwenstein-Jensen culture media on culture results

Abstract

Löwenstein-Jensen culture-media were produced with volumes of 5.5 and 2.5 ml. These culture-media were inoculated by sputa sent to the laboratory for culturing tuberculous bacilli. The culture results of the culture-media of the two volumes (5.5 and 2.5 ml) were similar.

Zusammenfassung

Es wurden Löwenstein-Jensen-Nährböden in 5,5 und 2,5 ml Volumen hergestellt. Die zwei verschiedenen Mengen von Nährboden enthaltende Röhrchen wurden mit zur Tuberkulosenbakterienkultur eingesandten Sputa inoculiert. Auch auf den Nährböden kleineren Volumens waren die Kultivationsergebnisse günstig.
