Abstract
Serum transaminase level (SGOT) was regularly determined in 50 patients during prolonged treatment with Rifampicin and Etambutol. At the 2nd month of treatment the SGOT level was increased in 44% of the cases. Liver biopsy by Menghini's method performed in 5 cases revealed pathologic tissue. Marked destruction of small bile vessels as well as autophage vacuoles of characteristic structure in the cytoplasm of hepatic cells have been found by electron-mikroskope investigation.
