Das Gynoeceum vonNicandra physaloides ist synkarp und besteht in der Regel aus fünf Karpellen. In systematischer Hinsicht unterstützt dieser Nachweis die Anerkennung der GattungNicandra als eigene TribusNicandreae Wettstein.

Summary

The gynoecium ofNicandra physaloides is a syncarpous one, and consists normally of five carpels. This supports the recognition of the genusNicandra as an own tribeNicandrae Wettstein.
