Summary

478 winter barley varieties, new entries into the Gatersleben collection, were tested in the greenhouse for their reaction to race 24 ofPuccinia striiformis West. None of the varieties was highly resistant. Moderate resistance was shown by four varieties: ‘Cerro’ (HOR 4047), Turkmenian (HOR 4176), Afghanistan (HOR 4219) and ‘Blätterkinder’ (HOR 1662). Mixtures of susceptible with resistant plants were found in three samples. 471 varieties were susceptible to stripe rust.

Средней устойчивостью обладали 4 образца: ‚Церро‘ (HOR 4047), образец из Туркмении (HOR 4176), образец из Афганистана (HOR 4219) и ‚Бл¶rt;ттеркиндер‘ (HOR 1662). Три номера оказались смесью устойчивых и неустойчивых растений. 471 образец легко заражался желтой ржавчиной.
