Summary
The relationship of severity of impact and extent of injury are discussed. Regional impacts of the head cause bending fractures, while impacts on large areas tend to produce bursting fractures. Various types of loading resulting in fractures are described. Tolerance curves for the brain with respect to translation and rotation acceleration are noted.
