Summary

Aqueous solutions of a non-ionic detergent, cetomacrogol, have been studied by ultracentrifuge, light scattering, viscosity, and diffusion. The hydrodynamic data obtained have been investigated with reference to the micellar shape and hydration. Results indicate that the maximum asymmetry which could occur in the micelle when treated as an ellipsoid of revolution would be an axial ratio of 2∶1.
